Thanks for reading this! I'm hopeful I can draw you in to look at my ever-evolving work!

My husband and I moved to Spain in June of 2023 returning here to be with family.  We moved from our home in the Appalachian Mountains to live in beautiful Sotogrande on the Costa del Sol, Spain, where I now have a studio space which is located in Pueblo Nuevo, Guadiaro. I work from there most days, painting and preparing for upcoming exhibitions, giving workshops and offering lessons. 

Early this year, I began to put together a series of new work for my updated ‘Coastal Moments" featuring an exciting selection of abstract, collage and mixed media pieces that I have had so much fun evolving! It all started during a fairly scary period of weather here where I live! We watched as the rivers broke their banks, homes flooded, farms were destroyed, cars underwater and saw people, neighbors, being rescued from their homes! The weather was tumultuous and seemed to go on and on for weeks!  I was hugely inspired by watching the enormous changes around me and sought to try to represent the feeling with my art, which is what you'll see as you peruse the site. It has since evolved from the weather and is now leaning more towards my representations of feelings one has whilst living in this generally almost always, lovely environment!  This new series, of which you will see many on this website, are group of pieces I'll be exhibiting in a group exhibit in August on the Costa del Sol, Sotogrande Marina.  The work ranges in size from small, 8inches by 8inches (20 x 20cm) up to over a meter square.

Abstracts are a way for me to diversify my work, indulge my creativity, and allow myself to be bold, loose and adventurous with my style. I still paint the 'big cats' which are slow and painstaking in their development but nonetheless a love of mine. With my most recent abstracts as described above, I've been enjoying using a lot of texture and colour making these hugely expressive and exciting pieces!
